EMPORDA GOLF

Emporda Golf is located 140 km north of Barcelona, in the well-known area of «La Costa Brava», Girona.

In 1989 group of members of Golf de Pals, a 1965 F.W.Hawtree design, wanted to create a new resort with a 36 hole course, together with a Hotel and some residential area. They chose Robert Von Hagge Design Associates for the design, after visiting his new course at Les Bordes (Orleans).

The developers required a local team in order to manage both project and construction, being us chosen for this job.

Von Hagge designed a 36 hole course. Our company was hired by the developers in order to carry on with the project and construction management of the new facility.

We took part in the first 18 holes built between 1989 and 1991, a 71 par of 6.160 m length. Well known for his mounding of the course and the use of water, the managing of the construction became a hard work, trying to balance the huge earthworks required to adapt a former rice field and fix shaping to Mr Von Hagges expectations. The final result is one of the most appreciated designs in Spain, having hosted many professional and high level amateur championships.
