Project Description
La Garriga “Best 18” par 3 course was established nearby the town of La Garriga, 50 km north of Barcelona.
The golf course was developed by at a golf course management company, subsidiary of a Real Estate company which was very active at that time.
Our team was awarded the design and construction supervision of a new 18 hole par 3 golf course. The developer wanted to, in some way, replicate famous short par 3 holes. Despite replicating was not possible we suggested to make approximate layouts and similar elevations, knowing that in no way the background and playing conditions of the many famous par 3 could be decently replicated.
We made an effort to represent many famous holes: 7th at Pebble Beach, Golden Bell 12th at Augusta National, Postage Stam9 at Troon, or the original Redan 15th at North Berwick, and even the island hole 17th at TPC Sawgrass.
The result was a very interesting par 3 course that was given good success and is still playing nicely, despite some changes we have been informed that have been done on the course by new owners (reduction of bunkers).
It has two set of tees for each hole, one of them accomplishing the distance parameters set by ACPP (Catalonia Pitch&Putt Association) and EPPA (European Pitch&Putt Association).
